Here’s a more conversational, human-sounding rewrite:
Listen up—I’ve got a track that’s going to blow your mind. When Dream Thief, SNOWFYRE, and Mars Atlas get together, magic happens. And their new song *”Chrysalis”*? It’s not just music—it’s like an emotional rollercoaster wrapped in sound.
These guys are seriously talented. Dream Thief, coming out of Albuquerque, has teamed up with California producer SNOWFYRE and Mars Atlas, and they’ve created something that’s way more than just another electro-pop track. We’re talking about a song that gets under your skin and makes you think.
*”Chrysalis”* is basically a musical story about breaking out of your old self and becoming something totally new. It’s that moment when you’re struggling, fighting through your own limitations, and then—boom—you emerge stronger. The production is insane. Mars Atlas’s vocals are haunting, SNOWFYRE’s bass lines are killer, and Dream Thief brings this atmospheric vibe that just pulls you in.
If you’re into artists like Flume or Grimes who aren’t afraid to push musical boundaries, this is your jam. These three aren’t just making music—they’re creating an experience. It’s like they took all those complex emotions you can’t even put into words and transformed them into sound.
Wanna know how this track came together? How three artists from different corners of the music world created something so powerful? Stick around—we’re about to go behind the scenes of a track that’s going to be talking about for a while.

What inspired the song “Chrysalis”? Is there a personal story or experience behind it?
“Chrysalis” was inspired by a personal journey of transformation. We all go through moments in life where we’re stuck or uncertain about who we are, but there’s always the possibility of change—of evolving into something new. The concept of the chrysalis felt like the perfect metaphor for that process. It’s about shedding the old and stepping into the unknown, even when it’s uncomfortable. While it’s not directly about one specific experience, it’s a reflection of our collective feelings at the time and the ways we were each growing personally and musically.
Can you talk about the meaning behind the lyrics and how they relate to the overall theme of the song?
The lyrics of “Chrysalis” explore themes of self-discovery, renewal, and the tension between staying in a familiar place and embracing change. The song touches on feeling trapped in a phase of life but also hints at the hope and potential of emerging into something better. It’s about going through a painful process, but realizing that on the other side, there’s freedom and growth. The imagery of the chrysalis is central—representing both the confinement of the past and the liberation of the future.
How did you approach the musical composition for “Chrysalis”? What instruments and sounds did you use to create the distinctive atmosphere?
We wanted the music to reflect the tension and release that the lyrics speak to. The song has this ethereal, almost cinematic quality, The intro starts with ambient, shimmering synth lead to build a sense of space, before the rhythm section kicks in, adding energy and urgency.
Can you describe the recording process for the single? Were there any challenges or memorable moments?
A huge part of our sound in the track was our friend and singer – Mars Atlas – and resampling her vocals is very unique ways to make many of synth sounds in the track, when you hear a lead or a chord it is often careful sound design and distortion of Mars Atlas’ Vocals
How did Dream Thief form as a band? What brought the members together?
I formed my artist Alias Dream Thief after chatting with friends, thinking, “what would be the coolest job ever? A music producer!” then i bought ableton and a laptop and started learning how to produce, by teaching myself and experimenting. But my classical piano musical training backgroud has been a huge grounding point for me.
How would you describe your musical style? What genres or artists inspire you?
This one is hard haha! I feel like for me it is constantly changing, but mostly electronica, bass and experimental and ethereal beats. My biggest inspirations are Flume, What So Not, and Glass Animals
What is your creative process like when writing and recording new music? Do you have any specific rituals or routines?
The most important think is being vulnerable with each other, when you know the true meaning/depth behind the story then you can understand and empathize with and value what the other person is brining to the table.
What can fans expect from your live shows? Are there any unique elements or surprises in store?
I put a lot of effort into making our live shows immersive. It’s not just about playing the songs; we want the audience to feel the emotion behind the music. I also like to experiment with arrangements in a live setting, so fans might hear slight variations or new elements that aren’t on the recorded versions. I’m always looking for ways to make each show a unique experience.
What are your plans for the future? Are you working on any new music or projects?
Yes, I’m currently working on new music!I’ve been writing a lot of new material, and am excited to explore some different sounds and textures, expect to hear some new directions from me in the near future with some grounding in the sound I already have explored!
What are your long-term goals as a band? Where do you see yourselves in five years?
In five years, I hope to have built a stronger connection with my audience and have an established place in the music scene. I want to be known for pushing boundaries in both our sound and our live performances. My long-term goal is to keep evolving and making music that resonates with people—whether that means releasing albums that speak to different phases of our journey or collaborating with other artists to explore new ideas.
What message would you like to send to your fans and supporters?
I just want to say thank you for all the love and support. It means everything to me. I hope our music can be a source of comfort, inspiration, or even just an escape for those who listen. The connection i have with our fans is what drives me to keep creating, and I’m grateful for every single person who has been part of this journey. Keep being yourselves and stay tuned—there’s more to come!
