Ugandan singer, songwriter and activist, Madeleine Opira has unleashed this new song tagged “Light In The Night” where she seeks to inspire you.
In moments where you need that spiritual upliftment and something to keep you going, Madeleine has got you covered.
She is a soul who has found a way to combine art with social justice. Madeleine grew up in Husby, a racially segregated neighborhood in Stockholm.
Her ancestors came from Uganda, where her family had escaped Idi Amin’s regime as political refugees.
Her entire existence is a musical expression that is gradually gaining shape, much like a magnificent artwork unfolding.
Madeleine began her musical career as a kid, and by the age of twelve, she had written songs and taught herself to play the keyboard and piano. She’d then venture along little paths in life before discovering her true destiny in music.
Madeleine promised to share elements of her narrative with the Awesome band and bring them to life. Neo-soul mixes rock, pop, RnB, and jazz in this musical synthesis.
Madeleine Opira made her debut in 2018 with the tracks “Can’t undo” and “Doesn’t add up.” Madeleine is releasing both previously published and new tracks in 2019.
